What is the dress code?

Mehndi - Casual

Anand Karaj -Indian clothing is highly encouraged!

But out of respect for the space, we ask that you remove your shoes and cover your head while inside the Gurdwara.

Sangeet, Jago, and Sikh reception -

We love bright colors but Indian clothing is optional!

American Wedding ceremony -

Formal

What is a Mehndi party?

Our Mehndi will be a very informal get together where any women are free to get simple henna designs on their hands.

What are the Sangeet and Jago?

HUGE pre-parties prior to the wedding ceremony so bring your dancing shoes!

What is the Anand Karaj at 9am?

-The Sikh wedding ceremony will take place at the Gurdwara in Reno, NV.

-Inside the Gurdwara, we ask that you remove your shoes and cover your head with a rumal (similar to a handkerchief or bandana) or dupatta/scarf.

-Traditionally, men sit on one side of the hall and women sit on the other side.

-The religious ceremony will be preceded by the Milni ceremony and followed by lunch.

What will the weather be like?

We are expecting beautiful weather in Tahoe this July! The current forecast is estimating mid 80's and low's of 50's.

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Wednesday - Friday all events will be hosted indoors. Saturday you will get to experience Tahoe's beauty with us as we host our American ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors. Dinner will be served inside.

How do I get to the wedding venue? Will transportation be provided?

We will be providing transportation from the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe to the Sikh Temple in Reno on Friday, July 7th only. When you RSVP'ing for this event, please indicate how many will be needing transportation.

Is there parking available at the wedding venue?

Yes! There is parking at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe. Valet parking fee is $50.00 per car per night and the self-parking fee of $29.00 per car or a per night fee of $15.00 per car.

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What's the best way to let you know?

When you are RSVP'ing, please let us know what the dietary restriction is as well as the guest(s) name so we can let the caterer know.
